Well at least he got to join the exclusive drinking club known as 'club morphine...'

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
mikes hand however....
Yeah, poor guy. And he lost his cap in the fire too, but Dog managed to save the cap badge from it. What I find amazing is how the Gunman guys sleeping in the C.P tent slept through it all!

Still waiting to hear Mikes side of this
is he maimed ? I heard what happened
shouldn't really laugh, least future reference it shall be known Mike, alcohol, sleep and fires are not a good mix ![]()

Still waiting to hear Mikes side of this
is he maimed ?
I hear it's both hands. The back of one and the palm of the other. I just hope the burns aren't more serious than superficial scorching of the skin.
Get well soon Mike!

Yes hope you heal quickly
what a narna
always one isn't there
least you've had your turn, be someone else next time ![]()

seeing as mikes quiet so far I'll offer up some of the events
Mike fell asleep infront of the fire after jeks left for the night and woke up in said fire, and pushed himself out of it. got back to his tent and then woke us up as he was in alot of pain.(we were a little relieved as it sounded like there was someone either puking or shagging outside our tent) After a call for an ambulance we got him upto the carpark and under a tap whilst I went to get josh and a first aider. the ambulance left shortly after 3am
we contemplated a 2 man raid on the german camp at that point but decided sleep was a better option lol

Well for my first ww2 event i have to say WOW!...pure fried gold! Got to say a big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen!, Il be coming again and regularly. Thank you all and thanks to all the other Rangers, our crack little squad rocked!
Probably not the nicest way of looking at it, but its a good thing he *was* in a lot of pain. It shows that its not a full thickness burn (burns that have no pain with them are bad. Very bad. As it means the burn is deep enough to destroy the nerve endings) Hope it heals quickly.
WhosWill? - Shame you couldn't make it, though your arse may thank you for it. That many miles in a Series is asking for a case of the Chalfonts ![]()

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Thanks for the concern everyone, but I'm fine, really. There was no pain after Oggie of 1RTR was through with the syrette, anyway!
Josh, Jim and everyone playing and marshalling were top notch, and the game is the best I've played, bar none. It was an experience, no doubt, and one of those things I'll remember fondly forever.
And hey, at least I'll have an excuse to order my sarge stripes and purple heart now!
Thanks again to Greg for getting me there and back (special mention to Beckie), Josh, Jim, Rhys and his mate for sorting a wounded soldier on sat night, and Jeks for giving me a fag or ten and being good drinking company.

no prob mate just glad yer ok and glad you werent a dogger outside the tent lol.

Thanks a million for finding that, mate. Greg was good enough to drive us back half an hour into the journey to look for it, and I got it off Josh there. It's fair to say I was shitting myself that it was lost, and so relieved to have it back!
P.s. Just took my dressing off - not pretty!

Gents ,
a big thank you on all fronts to all the people there. from organisers to players, your input, organisation, fairness (mostly), conversation and laughs were all part and parcel of a thouroughly good weekend.
I agree with some small aspects of the earlier posts that the walk to and from the beach was heavy going, however in my view it was worth it for an experience likley not to occur again in the immediate future. i am privileged to say i have taken part in this event.
on the side of the socialising, Gents , that is down to the individual effort. I wanted to socialise, so walked from the car park with my beers , to the axis camp, had several there , then walked all the way to the allie camp to further my socialising. then staggered my way back to the car park to sleep it off, in the dark , no torch on my own in an area known for dogging( I was worried to say the least). However i should have stayed and tucked kavster in his bed, then he wouldnt have decided to walk the embers at silly o'clock in the morning
get well soon mate
once again thanks to every one
jeks
was nice meeting you jeks. some of yer stories were hillarious

Same here Jeks, good to meet another FJ, think we had a four man unit at one point ![]()
Hi guys, sorry for the late post, dead on my feet! All in all I felt everyone put 110% into the event and would agree plenty of room for new added ideas! We had planned as we did for ‘Operations’ a social 1940s bar and entertainment but with so many peeps pulling out at the last minute, it left the coffers dry! And we did blow the budget thinking more were coming!
I did mention why the game was called short during debrief! We had just hit that magical high, after a number of tempers had been lost earlier and both Guy and myself thought best end on the high note and not drag out an assault that would peter out after another hours attack and defend. We did have a number of other objectives that we just couldn’t cram in! If we had started at 8am we may have had a chance! GMA prides itself on all action experiences and most importantly monies worth!
Note to self – Sunday, start game at 10am and finish at 2pm so we get a good 4 hours non stop action and those with hangovers get to sort there lives out!
I would have liked to see far more shooting time in the game and will make sure D-Day ‘Glory on the Hinterlands’ April 18-20 2008 (plug) be so! We did have to deal with very short days and never could have pulled of a beach landing any other time of the year, as the beach would be packed with general public!
The beach was everything we could dream for and everyone put so much energy into it happening. The lack of pyro and beach obstacles will always be frustration but the adrenaline pumping on both sides made up for it!
I thought the Germans being out number on this one made sense and thought they kicked arse all weekend. But for future events will try to make sure the sides are more balanced, most of those that pulled out at the last min were Germans!
Big thanks yet again to all the GMA and CIA crew for being involved and to the guys that came up 2 days early to build the site up!
A cracking to start to what I hope will be a premier Airsoft experience and be if nothing inspiration to those that take part in it.
Cheers
Josh and all the peeps at GUNMAN.
